Do not imagine that, if something is hard for you to achieve, it is therefore impossible for any man: but rather consider anything that is humanely possible and appropriately to lie within your own reach too.
Love the art which you have learnt, and take comfort in it. Go through the remainder of your life in sincere commitment of all being to the gods, and never making yourself tyrant or slave to any man.
Even if you burst with indignation, they will still carry on regardless.
Think of the whole of existence, of which you are the tiniest part; think of the whole of time, in which you have been assigned a brief and fleeting moment; think of destiny – what fraction of that are you?
When someone does you wrong, do not judge things as he interprets them or would like you to interpret them. Just see them as they are, in plain truth.
Soon you will have forgotten all things; soon all things will have forgotten you.
